Not such a good wife this morning...
Aw. Good Morning! It’s always a happy start to my day to walk out of the bedroom at 3am to be greeted by my pups, Joc and Max. Sometimes they’re at the door as I head to the kitchen to turn on the coffee and get my lunch together. Sometimes they’re sprawled across the couch, under a pillow, splayed out on their back with legs up in the air. It’s so darn cute! Other times, like one recent morning, they wanted to go outside. Wide eyes, one hopping up on my leg with tail wagging as if to say ‘Hi!” out they go into the cool air, lapping up a bunch of water and then running around the back yard sniffing for overnight visitors and doing their business. They work pretty quickly. I don’t have a lot of time to spare on this crazy early morning schedule. But on this morning, I guess one dog worked too quickly. He lapped up water and ran back into the house. Then, as I walked through the darkened hallway to get to the garage headed to work, I slipped. Nothing should make me slip. Oh no. I lift my right foot, turn on the light and see a pile of - mostly - water. Ick! Again, I’m in a rush. I guess that’s my fault. I don’t put much wiggle room into my (exceptionally) early morning routine. So, what does this good wife do? I wake up my poor husband who sleepily gives me a kiss, says have a nice day, makes a joke about what’s on the floor and goes to get a towel. Do I have a great husband or what?!
